Greek Mythology and the Structure of Meaning (c. 800–500 BCE): Gods, Heroes, and the Architecture of the Cosmos

Greek mythology shaped how early Greeks understood the cosmos, power, and human destiny. From Chaos to Olympus, from Prometheus to Achilles, myth organized divine hierarchy and heroic aspiration. These stories created cultural coherence, framed moral tension, and laid the groundwork for philosophy. Myth became the architecture of meaning in Archaic Greece.
